We are delighted that recently retired Ambassador Eivind S. Homme joins the FTU board as Deputy Chair today. He brings experience as secretary to the Parliament’s Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence, many years as Norway’s ambassador in Asia, and a long career as a manager and senior adviser in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Homme has also previously served as an officer in the Royal Norwegian Navy. He has been appointed Commander of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit for his service to Norway and his promotion of international relationship-building.
Eivind S. Homme is passionate about FTU’s mission and believes that technology and development cooperation are of central importance in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. He is strongly committed to enabling FTU to expand its coverage of international affairs, and he supports FTU’s goal of obtaining relevant press accreditation.
As Chair of the Board, I look forward to working closely with Homme, together with the rest of the board, on our strategy, projects, advisory work and leadership. We live in demanding times globally, and Homme’s knowledge, professional experience, drive and commitment will be of great benefit to FTU, to Norway, and to our influence on global development.
